The idea of Apitopia grew from an impulse to create a utopian environment for Apis mellafera, a vision for a safe, clean, and loving space in which we, acting as guardians, can nuture and protect the honeybee, as well as local native bees.

Ongoing research, education, and exploration take us to many unique places.  You will find us frequently among the bees learning and sharing within the apiaries of Spikenard Honeybee Sanctuary in Floyd, Virginia and Finca Luna Nueva in San Isidro, Costa Rica.

We wish to collaborate, share our knowledge, training, and adventures with a wide community of individuals and groups that have a desire to learn about the fascinating world of bees, forage, permaculture, and biodynamic practices.
